Louisa Graduates

Well, we finally decided it was time to convert Louisa's crib into a toddler bed. This last week she was really resisting going in her crib at bed time and would try to climb out of it so we made the switch and it seems to be working out. I checked on her during her first nap and there were a few toys that I didn't give her when I laid her down so I guess she just got up and got something to check out until she drifted off. Here are the pictures of the finished product (I was excited that her crib-skirt finally gets to show!) and her first nap in her new big-girl bed.
In addition to moving up in the world of sleeping arrangements, Louisa also now has a chore. She unloads the silverware from the dishwasher after every load. She took this chore on voluntarily and it seems to be working out quite well. After I remove anything sharp she proceeds to take each item and drop it into the silverward tray in the drawer. Once every piece is emptied she emphatically slides the drawer shut and walks off. Here is a picture of the finished product. Also, Louisa really seems to be getting ready to be a big sister. The other day I found her with the changing pad, diaper and wipes from the diaper bag all laid out on the living room floor. Laid out on the changing pad was Louisa's stripped down cabbage patch baby and she was cleaning her up with a wipey. I was shocked and delighted to see what little smartie and helper we have! I tried to get a picture but Rhett came in from work at that very moment and Louisa was eager to greet her daddy!

That's so funny! That is exactly my daughter...to a T. Man, she even started the silverware thing and diaper-changing...wow. We must have been roommates or something :)
